Sometimes you might feel an instant feeling of calmness, and sometimes you may not feel anything. Daily practice will help you develop a calm mind, enhance emotional health, and be a good decision-maker. So, regular practice would help you achieve better results.

Initially, you should try 5 to 10 minutes of meditation two times a day. Later you can increase your sitting time according to your capacity.

Choosing the right type of meditation for you:

There are many types of meditation practices. Not every type of meditation suits everyone. It may take many trials until you find the right one for yourself.

I practice Vipassana and recommend this meditation for everyone who wants to relieve stress, reduce anxiety, improve mental health, fight depression, stop worrying, and live regretless life. You can visit any Vipassana center near you and learn this beautiful technique for a lifetime.

What to do when you cannot visit any meditation center?

Follow these simple steps at home:

Firstly, sit down in a quiet place in your house. Close the curtains, switch off the fan and keep your room fragrance-free. Now, sit down with your head, neck, and spine in a straight position and close your eyes. Then focus on your breathing pattern in your nasal pathway. Keep watching the breath coming in and going out. Practice this for 5 minutes every morning and night.

Important note:

  • Do not expect anything while sitting for meditation. It means you should not generate expectations to get an enlightening experience when you come out of your sitting. Just observe your breathing pattern.
  • Thoughts will come, do not get irritated. As soon as you get aware of your thoughts, come back, and focus on your breathing pattern.

Continuous practice of meditation will bless you with a calmer mind, patience, and better emotional health.
