Flatulence happens when gas is accumulated inside the digestive system. It causes discomfort in the abdomen and leads to gas release from the digestive system through the anus. If you are constipated and often pass gas, you must follow a proper diet & lifestyle regimen to prevent digestive issues causing flatulence.

As per Ayurveda, flatulence happens due to the aggravation of the Vata dosha. Consuming more Vata aggravating food items like frozen food, raw vegetables, spicy food, chickpeas, soybeans, etc., may have gas buildup inside the colon. Due to this, it leads to abdominal discomfort and causes flatulence.

1. Digestive tea:

Herbal teas work best when it comes to digestion. There are various digestive herbs and spices that can help to prevent and cure digestive ailments. Here is one of my favorite herbal tea that helps digestive issues.

How to make it?
Firstly, take a glass of water and pour it into a pan. Now, add 1/2 teaspoon of cumin, coriander, and fennel into it and give it a boil on medium flame. Lastly, strain it and consume warm.

You can drink this herbal tea twice a day. These three ingredients help digest the food properly, ease the bowels, and clear the gas from the digestive system. Hence, you get relief from flatulence and feel light, fresh, and active.

2. Hing (asafoetida) water:

Drinking hing water is one of the best remedies to manage digestive troubles. It helps to digest the food properly and get relief from abdominal discomfort, gad, and flatulence.

How to use it?
Firstly, add a glass of water into a pan and warm it over a low flame. Once it is warm, pour it into a glass. Add a pinch of hing and black salt into it and mix it well. Drink it warm, sip by sip once a day.

You will observe a quick relief within few minutes with this water.

3. Triphala tea:

Triphala is a fantastic mixture of three herbs, namely- amla, vibhitaki, haritaki. It helps to clear the bowels regularly and gives relief from constipation, gas, and flatulence.

How to use it?
Firstly, boil a cup of water in a pan. Then pour it into a cup and add a tablespoon of Triphala powder to it. Cover it up and leave for 5 minutes. Lastly, mix it well and drink.

Drink Triphala tea at night (3 hours after dinner). If you have flatulence for few days, drink it continuously for three nights.
